Artist's Description
I took this photograph in Globe, Arizona with a large format camera. The photograph was taken in 2009 when the economy was taking a serious downward turn. I felt it depicted the current economic situation with an old abandoned limo, the city parking sign and the homeless person's bedding. After all, who had the money to rent a limo, so the owner is out of business. The city, like most local governments, were hurting for money and needed to increase income. Thus abandoning free parking and charging instead to increase cash flow. The bedding from a person who obviously lives under the bridge. It was a strong visual message to me.
About Richard Gehlbach
Two of my passions are traveling and photography. I caught the traveling bug when I was in the military. The love for photography actually developed when I was trying to capture memories of my children as they were growing older. What better way to spend my retirement than to travel and try to improve my photographic skills. I hope you enjoy these photographs. Photographs can enhance the beauty of your home or office. They can bring light into a room or happiness into your heart.
