Artist's Description

The Stewart Motor Corporation of Buffalo, New York, began building commercial vehicles in 1912. In 1915 and 1916 only, they offered a passenger car, before returning to what they did best. In 1926 they introduced the “Buddy” – a light truck with good road performance. A 2.7-liter straight-four engine powered it. Today this truck would not be considered a commercial vehicle, but an everyday pickup truck.

While many auto makers folded during the Great Depression, Stewart was able to weather the storm and even competed with bigger companies like Ford. Unfortunately Stewart finally folded in 1940 after a good run. This particular Photograph is just a fun picture of a Stewart Buddy with a little added decoration to make your day.

About Richard Gehlbach

Richard Gehlbach

Two of my passions are traveling and photography. I caught the traveling bug when I was in the military. The love for photography actually developed when I was trying to capture memories of my children as they were growing older. What better way to spend my retirement than to travel and try to improve my photographic skills. I hope you enjoy these photographs. Photographs can enhance the beauty of your home or office. They can bring light into a room or happiness into your heart.
