Artist's Description

The small village of Riquewihr is one of the few mid-evil villages that escaped World War II practically unscathed. The town became a center for wine production in the mid 16th century. In fact it was known as a "Winzerdorf" or Wine Village. The village is part of the Most Beautiful Village Association in France. Many of it's fortifications and walls still stand today. This photograph was near one of the mid-evil entrances at the edge of a vineyard.

About Richard Gehlbach

Richard Gehlbach

Two of my passions are traveling and photography. I caught the traveling bug when I was in the military. The love for photography actually developed when I was trying to capture memories of my children as they were growing older. What better way to spend my retirement than to travel and try to improve my photographic skills. I hope you enjoy these photographs. Photographs can enhance the beauty of your home or office. They can bring light into a room or happiness into your heart. If any of these photographs or those of other artists are of interest to you, simply click on the photograph to review purchasing options. Thanks for visiting.
