In Lucerne, Switzerland is the ancient Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), a wooden bridge built in the 14th century that traverses a portion of Lucerne Lake. The bridge displays religious artwork of the period. The bridge suffered a fire in 1993 but portions of the bridge are still original with the damaged portion restored to it's original condition.
